Biocides

One of the chief challenges encountered in dealing with a cooling water system is how to control microbiological growth within the system. Open recirculating systems (cooling towers), once through systems, and even closed loops all need a sound microbiological control strategy in place. A robust water treatment program often requires non-oxidizing and oxidizing biocides to control microbiological growth, and we offer a full line of both solution types.

AquaTrol’s Cooling Water Biocide Programs Provide:

COMPREHENSIVE INITIAL SYSTEM SURVEY via visual inspections and dipslides to ascertain current level of microbiological activity.

PROPER PRODUCT SELECTION AND DOSAGE FREQUENCY based on type of microbiological activity found, level present, system volume, and blowdown rates.

THOROUGH PUMP SELECTION for application and proper injection point(s) into system.

MONITORING ON AN ONGOING BASIS to ensure target maximum acceptable microbiological levels are met.

  • 10^3 CFU/ml or less for aerobic counts
  • 10^1 CFU/ml or less for anaerobic counts (SRB)
  • Non-Detect for Legionella

ALTERNATING OF NON-OXIDIZING BIOCIDES at least yearly to allow for no tolerance to develop by the microorganisms in the system.
